HSE University Tops Forbes Education Ranking of Universities with Highest Reputation among Employers
Forbes Education has released a new ranking of the top 20 Russian universities with the most trusted degrees, based on a survey of the country's leading companies. HSE University tops the list, followed by Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, and Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
To compile the rating, Forbes surveyed companies from the list of 125 best employers in Russia, asking them to identify higher education institutions which they trust for the quality of training and whose graduates they prioritise for hiring.
Forbes Education selected respondents by focusing on employers that offer highly competitive salaries, extensive benefits packages, transparent corporate governance systems, and modern ESG practices. In total, companies from 44 sectors of the economy and various regions across Russia participated in the survey.
HSE University secured the top position in the ranking, with nearly 67% of surveyed employers rating its training quality as high. Lomonosov Moscow State University followed closely, with 65% of mentions. St. Petersburg State University ranks third, with 46% of surveyed employers rating the quality of its training as good. Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Plekhanov Russian University of Economics occupy the fourth and fifth places in the ranking, respectively.
Evgeniya Dannik, Director of the HSE Analytical Centre
'Employer assessment is among the key criteria in both Russian and international university rankings. Employers' opinions about university graduates are crucial indicators of education quality and students' employability. The university's reputation among employers reflects the success of its graduates, making it more attractive to potential students and partners as this indicator rises.
This year, HSE University not only ranked first in Forbes' list of universities with the best reputation among employers but also achieved the highest, throughout its participation history, employer reputation score in the international QS World University Rankings. This confirms that HSE University not only delivers high-quality education but also actively engages with the business community, thereby contributing to graduates' successful employment.
These achievements underscore the university's prestige and competitiveness in the educational market, both in Russia and abroad.'
