HSE Campus in Perm to Promote Quality of Education in the Region
As part of his official visit to Perm, HSE Rector Nikita Anisimov met with Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of Perm Krai. They signed a cooperation agreement between HSE University and the Government of Perm Krai. Key decisions made during the meeting include the creation of a HSE Lyceum in Perm for 10th and 11th-graders, with the first enrolment in 2022.
HSE University Advances 200 Places in ARWU
HSE University has demonstrated explosive growth in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) (Shanghai Ranking), improving its standing by as many as 200 places. The university climbed to the 601-700 group of ARWU and advanced from 7-8th to the 4-5th among Russian universities.

Vaccines as a Profession: ICEF Graduate Talks about His Work at Sanofi Pasteur
Nikolay Kuzin, a 2011 graduate of ICEF, is brand manager at Sanofi Pasteur (France), a company that has been manufacturing vaccines for many years and where he oversees the launch of new products in Eastern European markets. HSE Rector: In Order to Deal with All Our Tasks, We’ll Need Teamwork
Nikita Anisimov has held his first meeting of the Board of Tenured Professors as HSE University Rector. HSE Academic Supervisor Yaroslav Kuzminov also participated in the event. They told the board members that the university’s development priorities remain the same, while the professors expressed their commitment to helping the new administration. They also discussed the renewal of the board, by including representatives of different research fields and young scholars from all HSE campuses.
Student of the HSE Art and Design School Directs Animated Video for Indie Folk Band Juna
July 12 saw the YouTube release of the music video for the track ‘Amanat’ by the Tatar indie folk band Juna. The video was directed by Evgenia Sheinina, now a fourth-year student of the bachelor's programme in Animation and Illustration at HSE Art and Design School. She worked on the animated video across two modules with her supervisor Igor Kovalev. Evgenia spoke to HSE News Service about this unusual project.
High School Students from 46 Countries to Participate in the 2021 International Economics Olympiad
More than 200 high school seniors representing 46 national teams will compete for the title of the world's best young economists in July at the 4th International Economics Olympiad (IEO). The competition will be held online from July 26 to August 1. All the participants have won competitions in economics and financial literacy in their home countries. HSE University is the general partner of the Olympiad.

In autumn 2021, the HSE Banking Institute will launch a new online master’s programme, Master of Finance, on Coursera. The educational content is based on HSE’s Financial Analyst master’s programme.
