From December 5–13, HSE University hosted a mini-course in Decision Making led by Enes Eryarsoy from Sabanci University, Turkey. The course was attended by students of the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Economic Sciences, the Graduate School of Business and other departments of HSE University.

HSE University’s Online Campus Launches Courses on Three Partner Platforms
Open online courses from leading HSE University researchers are now available on the Russian platforms Lektorium and Edutoria and the Chinese platform XuetangX. HSE University’s online campus now offers more than 350 large-scale open online courses taken not only by HSE students and external attendees, but also by 15,000 online students from partner universities in Russia and other CIS countries.
MIEM and HSE Design School Meet with Indonesian Game Dev Representatives
In December, the Indie Go space hosted a meeting with representatives of Indonesia’s game development industry. Colleagues from the ‘Game Engineering and Interactive Systems’ workshop of the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM) and the HSE Art and Design School learned about the intricacies of the Indonesian game industry and told the visitors about their own projects.
HSE Student Develops Platform for Online Physical Training
A student of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and a team of like-minded people have created Fora.Vision, a startup platform for conducting remote physical training lessons in schools and universities. The computer vision-based system automatically counts the number of completed exercises and displays students’ progress in the teacher's personal account.
HSE University Teams Win Gold and Three Bronzes in ICPC Semifinals
In December, the Northern Eurasia Regional Contests (NERC)—the semifinal of the ICPC international programming contest—took place. This year’s competition featured around 300 teams comprising 900 participants from Russia and other CIS countries. The contest took place simultaneously in St Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Astana, and Kutaisi. The majority of teams—a total of 152—took part in the competition at St Petersburg’s MTS Live Hall venue.
HSE University Students Become European Champions of Qatar’s Debate
Anton Klyuev, fifth-year student of the Bachelor’s in Asian and African Studies, and Artem Saenko, graduate of the same programme, have won the European round of the Qatar’s Debate competition, beating 11 teams from non-Arabic-speaking countries.
HSE University Receives Highest Grant under Priority 2030 Programme
HSE University has proved its leading position in the first group of the ‘Research Leadership’ field under the Priority 2030 programme. The university has also received the highest grant for teaching digital competencies to students, demonstrating its educational leadership in the fields of digital technologies and AI.
Season Six of HSE CREATIVE OPEN Competition Begins
Beginner-level specialists and students, as well as graduates of any university, regardless of geographical location, are invited to participate. Works can be submitted in the categories of Identity, Object Design, Illustration and Comics, Game Visuals, and Sound until January 21, 2024. Launched by the HSE Art and Design School in 2022, the competition collected more than 1,500 works in its first year. Its goal is to present a unified platform to host original ideas and spectacular projects in all areas of design, contemporary art, and fashion, as well as to draw the attention of the creative community to the development of professions in the industry.
